You will experience everything from the gothic spires of Central Europe to the neon skylines of Southeast Asia, moving quickly to see a vast amount of the world in a single trip.
Porto
Day 1
Your journey begins in Porto, a city that feels like it grew up on the river. You will find the hills spilling down to the Douro in a maze of narrow streets and pastel-colored houses. Start your day at the Ribeira waterfront, where the cobbled promenade offers postcard views of the Dom Luís I Bridge and the orange-hued façades of Vila Nova de Gaia across the water. To get a better sense of the city layout, walk up to the Clerigos Tower in Cedofeita. From here, you can see the steep climbs, sudden squares, and the general flow of the city.
For dinner, head to Scala. When it is time to rest, you can stay at the Hotel Grande Rio.
Prague
Day 2 Leg: Flight from Porto (~2038 km)
Next, you fly to Prague. This city feels like it has been layered over centuries without hiding any of its history. You can wander down the cobblestones in Žižkov and hear a jazz trio spilling out of a basement bar. To see the heart of the city, cross the Vltava on Charles Bridge and look up at the gothic spires that have watched over the city for 600 years. The Old Town square is always buzzing with street musicians and the hourly show of the Astronomical Clock. If you need a break from the crowds, step a few blocks into Malá Strana, where the vibe shifts to quiet courtyards.
You should eat at Legenda and spend the night at Hotel Olšanka.
Krakow
Day 3 Leg: Flight from Prague (~393 km)
A short flight brings you to Krakow, a city that feels lived in and welcoming. Spend your time in the Old Town market square, characterized by its red-brick paving and the clang of church bells from St. Mary's. This is a great place to linger over a plate of pierogi ruskie (potato-and-cheese filling) for about 12 zł. You can then wander to the medieval Cloth Hall to watch street musicians trade tunes for coins. Later, take a short ride on tram line 2 (which costs 4 zł) to reach Kazimierz.
For dining, you have the choice of Tawerna Stary Port or Duffy's Irish Bar. Your home for the night is Mundo.
Budapest
Day 4 Leg: Flight from Krakow (~293 km)
From Poland, you head to Budapest. You can see the city's layers in the way the grand boulevards of the 5th District give way to the narrow, graffiti-splashed streets of the Jewish Quarter. A walk across the Chain Bridge at sunset provides a classic postcard view of the city. For a more local experience, wander down to the lively Gozsdu Courtyard where people crowd into tiny wine bars to drink glasses of fröccs. You also won't want to miss the thermal baths, specifically the massive pools at Széchenyi.
Eat at Trattoria Pomo D'Oro for Italian food or Quí for Thai. You will be staying at the Ikonik Parlament.
Tallinn
Day 5 Leg: Flight from Budapest (~1379 km)
Your final European stop is Tallinn. The cobblestone streets of the Old Town wind past the pastel-colored houses of Kalamaja, where wooden villas sit shoulder-to-shoulder with sleek cafés. Take a stroll to the quiet park around Kadriorg Palace to see the gardens blooming. For food, you can grab black rye bread with smoked butter at a market stall for a few euros, or try a plate of verivorst (blood sausage) with lingonberry.
You will stay at the St. Olav Hotel.
Amman
Days 6-8 Leg: Flight from Tallinn (~3168 km)
You now leave Europe for Amman, a city negotiating between its past and present. Spend your three days wandering the steep, flower-lined alleys of Jabal Amman, where boutique cafés spill onto the pavement. Contrast this with the wide, traffic-snarlled avenues of downtown, where the Roman Theatre looms over the bustling market. Visit the Citadel on the hill for a look at Bronze-Age ruins, and make sure to spot the blue dome of the King Abdullah Mosque.
Enjoy your meals at Afra Restaurant and stay at the Sydney Hotel Amman.
Chiang Mai
Days 9-11 Leg: Flight from Amman (~6416 km)
The journey continues to Chiang Mai, a compact city that lets you breathe. In the Old City, which is ringed by crumbling walls and moats, you can visit Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang. Afterward, wander into the Nimmanhaemin area, a neighborhood pulsing with cafés, indie boutiques, and backpackers. If you love food, the night market off Warorot Road is a highlight, where you can find a bowl of khao soi.
For your meals, try New Boomerang or Franco Thai. You will stay at The Jersey Royal.
Kuala Lumpur
Days 12-14 Leg: Flight from Chiang Mai (~1765 km)
Your final stop is Kuala Lumpur. The skyline is dominated by the Petronas Twin Towers and the newer Merdeka 118. To find a slower pace, step into Chinatown and head to Jalan Alor. Here, you can find a plate of Nasi Lemak for about RM 8 and satay sticks for less than RM 1 each. If you enjoy street art, look for the walls of Kampung Glam or the colorful murals in Ba.
Eat at Old Town or Voilà Meat Free Restaurant. You will finish your trip staying at the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel.

How to adapt this trip
If you only have 10 days, you should cut Tallinn and Krakow to reduce the number of short flight legs in Europe. This will give you more time to relax in the Asian cities.
If you have 21 days, you can add more time to Amman and Chiang Mai. These cities have a slower rhythm than the European capitals, and adding two or three days to each would allow you to explore the neighborhoods of Nimmanhaemin and Jabal Amman at a more leisurely pace.
