TravelMe

Effective April 20, 2026

Privacy Policy

TravelMe is operated by Wildwood Development Co., an Illinois C-Corp. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. We wrote it in plain English on purpose.

1. What We Collect

Analytics. We track page views, clicks, and general usage patterns to understand how people use the site. This data is aggregated and not tied to your identity unless you have an account.

Account info. If you create an account, we store your email address, saved trips, and reviews. We need your email to log you in and send you things you asked for (like trip confirmations).

Newsletter. If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Cookies. We use cookies for session management and to remember your preferences. More on that below.

2. How We Use It

We use your data to run the site, improve the experience, and personalize destination recommendations. We also use aggregated analytics to figure out what content to build next.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not build advertising profiles.

3. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of third-party services to operate TravelMe:

  • Supabase for database hosting and user authentication
  • Vercel for website hosting and delivery
  • Viator, Booking.com, and GetYourGuide as affiliate booking partners (see below)

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. When you interact with them (for example, completing a booking on Viator), their terms apply.

4. Affiliate Disclosure

TravelMe earns commissions when you book hotels, tours, or activities through our affiliate links. These links go to third-party providers like Viator, Booking.com, and GetYourGuide.

Clicking an affiliate link does not cost you anything extra. The provider pays us a small referral fee. We track which links are clicked so we can report on affiliate performance, but this tracking is tied to the click event, not to your personal identity.

5. AI-Generated Content

Destination profiles, trip itineraries, and blog content on TravelMe are generated by AI and reviewed by humans before publishing. The AI runs on private infrastructure operated by Wildwood Development Co. Your personal data is not sent to any external AI service.

6. Cookies

We use cookies for session management (keeping you logged in) and remembering your site preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features (like staying logged in) will not work without them.

7. Your Rights

You can:

  • Access the data we hold about you by contacting us
  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time
  • Opt out of our newsletter with one click

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion under the CCPA. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR including data access, correction, deletion, and portability. Contact us at the address below to exercise any of these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

TravelMe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will post a notice on the site. The effective date at the top of this page tells you when it was last revised.
