Peak season is July and August. The weather is hot and humid. Daytime highs often sit between 80 and 84°F and can climb to 100°F. Nights stay warm around 71°F to 80°F. The lakefront stays cooler. Crowds are thick and prices rise. The reference does not name specific festivals but the summer heat draws many visitors.
Sweet‑spot months are May and September. Temperatures are mild, usually in the 60s to low 70s. Rain is light and thunderstorms are rare. Daylight lasts longer than in winter. You can walk the lakefront without a heavy coat. Prices are moderate.
If you want to avoid the worst weather stay away from December through March. Temperatures are low, wind chill bites, and snow can fall. Sun sets before 4:30PM and rises after 7:15AM. The cold can be sharp. The reference notes occasional warm spells up to 60°F but they are brief.
April and June are generally fine but thunderstorms can appear suddenly. October brings a light chill, a light coat is enough most days. In some years the lake keeps warmth into November giving a pleasant autumn.
The reference does not list dishes or price ranges. It only gives weather patterns and the feel of each season.
